Sailing in summer is a great time to be on the water. We extend a very warm welcome to people joining us for a sailing experience for either a charter or course over our NZ summer period.

Charters

Experience Feel the thrill of sailing on Auckland – ‘City of Sails’ Waitemata Harbour. The sailing is held on our Bruce Farr 1020 (34’) yacht which is centrally located at Westhaven Marina. You can lie back and relax, taking in the breathtaking views during a leisurely sail or be part of the crew with plenty of ‘hands on’ experience. Click here to view Charters details

RYA Courses

Every year more than 150,000 people take a RYA course. They provide a learning process from Start Yachting through to Yachtmaster. They include:

- Seamanship which is knowledge of boats in general including safety precautions

- Navigation which is the art of finding your position at sea, moving in the right direction to your destination and that you have chosen a safe route and can stay on it including the use of navigation aids.

- Meteorology which is the science of the weather – the ally and potential enemy of all boats. We need to know about weather forecasts and how to use them from our own observations. Click here to view Course details

 

ICC now available to NZ Citizens

ICCs practical and knowledge assessments are carried out over a day on our yacht. They are available for inland or coastal waters. An additional CEVNI endorsement is also available, covering signs, rules and procedures for European inland waterways. ICC’s can now be a requirement to charter a yacht in the Mediterranean.  NZ citizens and those citizens from outside UNECE member countries can obtain their ICC at Gulfwind Sailing Academy.
