Ability after course:

The syllabus arms would be skippers with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights, weather and IRPCS is also included.

This provides the theory navigation skills required to be a safe and competent crew or skipper aboard a keeler or motor cruising launch.
Previous experience not essential but Gulfwind recommend people new to boating take a RYA Start Yachting or Motor Cruising Helmsman course beforehand.
